A tree is the best neighbor a man can have. Always quiet, polite, and good with kids. What is most fascinating about our great neighbors are the stories they tell. But like people, trees hate to tell their age.
The answer to finding a tree’s age can be stumping. Pun intended. Knowing the species of tree, circumference, and height - you might just find that secret number.
The picture above is me and my friend from Rockwood Park, New York. June 26, 2011. The exact age of this tree is still unkown to me. Yet the stories of many people are carved all over it’s trunk. Dates, Romances, and Doodles marked all over the tree - as if already cut down and turned to paper.
